Animal Humane Society Veterinary Centers offers three appointment types to best fit your pet's needs. Learn more about the different exam types and what's included in each below.

Veterinary exam and consultation
These appointments include an exam and consultation with one of our veterinarians and are for any medical, behavioral, or general concern.
These appointments are generally for the following situations:
- Any medical, behavioral, or general concern (Note: we are not an urgent care or emergency facility)
- First puppy/kitten visits
- Pre-dental evaluations
- Geriatric pets (Dogs over 8 years/cats over 12 years)
- Medication refills

Preventative care exam
These appointments are for basic wellness services for healthy pets with no behavior or medical concerns. Preventative visits are led by our expert veterinary technician team who will handle all communication with you during the visit.
During the appointment, our technician will take your pet to our treatment area for a physical examination with a veterinarian to ensure your pet is heathy enough to receive preventative care. At your Preventative Exam visit, we will not be able to address any medical or behavior concerns outside of preventative care as you will not be speaking directly with the veterinarian.

- Feline Leukemia and FIV testing
- Routine Fecal Tests
- Heartworm, Flea & Tick Preventative Prescriptions
