Shelter tours

Explore Animal Humane Society with a visit to one of our five locations for a group tour led by one of our professional humane educators. Learn more about the history of AHS, the animals we work with, the services we provide to animals and the community, and more.

Tours are offered throughout the year by appointment, and can often be combined with a classroom program. Tours are offered on weekdays during the following hours:

  • Golden Valley: Monday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Buffalo: Monday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Coon Rapids: Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • St. Paul: Monday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Woodbury: Monday 12 p.m. - 6 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Advanced reservations are required for all tours. Our tour schedules often fill up several weeks in advance, so contact us as early as possible to schedule your group's tour.

Cost: $1 per person ($20 minimum)
Length of tour: 45-60 minutes
Group size: Tours require a minimum of five people and can accommodate up to 15 people (or 40 people in Golden Valley, depending on time of year).
Minimum age: Participants must be at least 6 years old.
