Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak the Animal Humane Society has canceled or postponed all in-person Education programming through September 1. Explore Humane Education Online activities and lessons, or contact us at educ@animalhumanesociety.org with questions. 


Explore Animal Humane Society by visiting to one of our four locations for a group tour led by a professional humane educator. Learn more about the history of AHS, the animals we care for, the services we provide, and more. 

Tours are offered throughout the year by appointment, and can often be combined with a classroom programReservations are required for all tours.

Cost: $20 (plus $1 per person exceeding 20 for Golden Valley tours)

Length of tour: 45-60 minutes

Group size: Tours require a minimum of five people; maximum number of people, including children and adults, are as follows:

  • Golden Valley: 20-40 attendees, depending on educator availability
  • Woodbury and Coon Rapids: 15 attendees

Minimum age: Participants must be at least 6 years old.

Times vary by location:

  • Golden Valley: Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Coon Rapids:  Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Woodbury:  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. - 5:45 p.m., Tuesday & Friday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
