Is your child interested in becoming a veterinarian one day? If so, you're in the right place! Our Future Vet Workshop (formerly known as Shelter Vet Camp) is designed to immerse students in the world of shelter medicine.
With hands-on activities, meet-and-greets with real animal care professionals, and a look inside the world of veterinary science, this program is designed for kids who just can't get enough of their furry (or feathery!) friends.
Opportunities are available at our shelter locations for grades 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. The skills and topics covered in this single day workshop vary depending on the age group, with activities including:
- Practicing surgery on a pretend patient
- Listening to animal heartbeats
- Watching shelter vet medicine in action
- Visiting behind-the-scenes areas of the shelter
