We appreciate donations any time of the year! Bring donated items to the customer service counter at any Animal Humane Society location during regular business hours. No appointment is necessary.

Our wish list includes:

  • Live traps for TNR program
  • Pet food (must be unopened and dropped off before expiration date)
  • Powdered laundry detergent
  • Disinfectant wipes
  • Baby food with meat (for sick cats)
  • Cage scratchers for cats from
  • Kuranda dog beds from
  • 48-inch high exercise pens
  • Gentle leaders (medium and large sizes)
  • Kongs (all sizes but especially the larger ones)
  • Greenie’s Pill Pockets
  • Newspaper and shredded office paper (must be long strips of shred, not small cross-strips)
  • Clean plastic shopping bags
  • Canned tuna in water
  • Bleach and dish soap
  • Paper towels and kleenex
  • Zip-lock bags
  • Outdoor cat shelters (only accepted October-March)

We cannot accept the following items:

  • Homemade dog treats
  • Toner cartridges
  • Old computers and equipment (mice, keyboards, monitors, printers, etc.)
  • Medications and medical supplies, including syringes
  • Topical and oral pesticide products, including flea and tick products
  • Flea sprays, powders, and foggers 
  • Padded dog beds (Kuranda beds are acceptable)
  • Used dog treats and raw hides
  • Used litter boxes 
  • Confetti shredded paper
  • Old clothing (T-shirts, socks, etc.)
  • Comforters, pillows, pillow cases, and sheets       
  • Anything that is broken or has missing pieces    

Donated pet supplies that cannot be used in shelter may be resold to the public in our discounted merchandise area located at our Golden Valley shelter. 


Schedule a tour

Groups are welcome to schedule a tour of one of our facilities when they drop off donations. Our tour schedules fill up quickly, so please schedule tours at least two weeks in advance.
