Shelter tours

Explore Animal Humane Society with a visit to one of our five locations for a group tour led by one of our professional humane educators. Learn more about the history of AHS, the animals we work with, the services we provide to animals and the community, and more.  Please be advised that AHS is a temporary home to shelter animals that have not had any therapy training. In that regard, AHS tours are educational in nature, and are not intended to be a therapeutic experience for tour participants.

Tours are offered throughout the year by appointment, and can often be combined with a classroom program. Tours are offered on weekdays at all five shelter locations, during the following hours:

Golden Valley: Monday 12-8PM, and Tuesday-Friday 10AM-8PM
Woodbury: Monday 12-6PM, Tuesday and Thursday 10AM-8PM, Wednesday 10AM-6PM, Friday 10AM-8PM
Coon Rapids: Monday through Thursday 10AM-6PM, Friday 10AM-8PM
Buffalo: Monday 12-8PM, and Tuesday-Friday 10AM-8PM
