Temporary Pet Housing

Cat at Animal Humane Society

We never know what the future holds, and we can’t always plan for life’s uncertainties. For those in short-term crisis situations, Animal Humane Society can provide 60 days of temporary pet housing through our foster program.

Temporary pet housing helps individuals experiencing extended hospital stays, a sudden change in their living situation, family emergencies, and more by working directly with case workers in the Twin Cities.

Our goal is to keep pets with the people who love them, and our temporary pet housing program provides much-needed relief for those who need our support.

Experiencing a short-term crisis?

If you’re currently facing a situation and require temporary care for your pet, Animal Humane Society is here to support you.

We accept referrals from the local partners listed below. To seek placement for your pet in our Temporary Pet Housing program, please first contact one of these partners for more information and next steps. A case worker will then facilitate your program application.
