We never know what the future holds, and we can’t always plan for life’s uncertainties. For those in short-term crisis situations, Animal Humane Society can provide 60 days of temporary pet housing through our foster program.
Temporary pet housing helps individuals experiencing extended hospital stays, a sudden change in their living situation, family emergencies, and more by working directly with case workers in the Twin Cities.
Our goal is to keep pets with the people who love them, and our temporary pet housing program provides much-needed relief for those who need our support.
Experiencing a short-term crisis?
If you’re currently facing a situation and require temporary care for your pet, Animal Humane Society is here to support you.
We accept referrals from the local partners listed below if you have an existing relationship or are currently using their services.
If you do not have an existing relationship or a caseworker at one of these agencies, first contact these agencies directly to utilize their services. If it's determined you qualify for their services, they may be able to provide you with a referral for temporary pet housing at AHS.
