Fun ways to keep your pet active this summer

Summer in Minnesota is the perfect time for getting outside with your pet. Whether it's going for a walk or visiting a dog park with a nearby brewery, there’s plenty of fun for your pet — and you too!  

Trails and dog parks 

Many dogs and their people love nature and enjoy going for a nice hike or walk. Luckily, Minnesota is full of great parks and trails for pet parents to enjoy.

Depending on the dog park, you must buy a permit before visiting. Check the dog park's website for any permits or other requirements before visiting.

AHS training classes

Working with your dog on manners and skills is a great way to keep your pet engaged and helps strengthen the bond between you and your furry family member. AHS offers five levels of obedience training and a variety of specialized classes and webinars.   

Other training options to keep your dog active and engaged outside of AHS include dog agility, dock diving, and other specialty skills.  

Dog-friendly breweries and patios 

Many breweries allow dogs and hanging out on a comfy patio with friends — furry ones too! — can be a fun summer activity.
