We’re celebrating our love for animals this Valentine’s Day, so we took one lucky pup on her very own Valentine’s Day date.
Chocolate, a brown pit bull mix, was in our care a little longer than most adult dogs. She came to AHS with severe mange and other medical issues that required extra care. After several exams and a treatment plan, this sweet girl made her debut in our adoption center.
With a wagging tail and gentle eyes, Chocolate waited patiently as dozens of potential adopter passed by her kennel. AHS staff and volunteers made sure she received love and attention every day she was with us. There’s a long-standing stereotype that shelters are a sad place. But just as we did for Chocolate, we work hard to fight that stigma with each and every animal in our care every single day.
After two months at AHS (and just two days after her special date), Chocolate was adopted by a loving new family!
