Last summer, we made the difficult decision to suspend operations at Now Boarding, a for-profit subsidiary of Animal Humane Society, due to the overwhelming challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now Boarding operated under a lease agreement with the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), and over the last several months we’ve been working with MAC to determine the long-term future of the business. 

Due to ongoing COVID impacts and concerns for negative financial impacts we have decided not to reopen Now Boarding Inc. MAC has agreed to release us from our lease and will reopen the facility under contract with a new business operator. We have transferred the rights to the Now Boarding name to the new operator who will do business as Now Boarding LLC.

When Now Boarding reopens it will have no ties to the prior Now Boarding Inc. and no longer be affiliated with Animal Humane Society in any way.

The new owners plan to open for business on February 15. As that date approaches, they may reach out to previous clients with more details about their plans. You can also watch for updates at nowboardingpets.com when that website is relaunched later this month.

Although we are sad to conclude Animal Humane Society’s involvement with Now Boarding, we are thrilled that the extraordinary facility we created in 2008 will continue to serve the pets and people of Minnesota. We wish the new Now Boarding LLC team the best in their exciting new endeavor.
