Minnesota baseball fans may still be feeling this week’s defeat, but we have some good news. Animal Humane Society is receiving $13,900 thanks to Jake Odorizzi and the Minnesota Twins!

A big animal lover, Odorizzi pledged to donate $50 to AHS for every strikeout he threw this season. And what a season he had! With a career high 178 strikeouts, Odorizzi helped lead the Twins in a historic year. The team won 100 games for the first time since 1965, and the American League Central for the first time since 2010.

Odorizzi’s 178 strikeouts mean AHS will receive $8,900, and our animals will benefit from an additional $5,000 in matching funds generously provided by the Twins. That means AHS will receive a total of $13,900 to help Minnesota animals in need.

A big, heartfelt thank you to Jake and the Twins for their incredible support!
