Animal Humane Society is excited to welcome a new agent to our Humane Investigations team, Scott “Sugar” Hill! Agent Hill has 23 years of experience in law enforcement, including 20 years as a police officer and humane officer in Alabama, investigating and prosecuting animal cruelty cases (with a 99% conviction rate).
Agent Hill also spent three years in New Orleans as an animal cruelty investigator at Villalobos Rescue Center, helping animals across the country and appearing as a cast member on the TV show "Pit Bulls and Parolees." Recently, Agent Hill led two trainings educating Minneapolis Police Department recruits on handling canine interactions while on the job, from understanding body language, to non-lethal methods of dealing with aggressive animals.
Agent Hill will supplement the efforts of our two professional full-time humane agents, easing the case load and offering more opportunity to respond to calls for assistance.
Our Humane Investigations (HI) team works in concert with local law enforcement regarding animal neglect or abuse cases. With the addition of our new agent, the HI team will have more ability to work in an outreach capacity, informing law enforcement of our Critical Response Team and shelter services. The HI team looks forward to having an additional humane agent working to stop animal abuse and neglect in the state of Minnesota.
Agent Hill has always loved animals and has several dogs and cats of his own. He’s excited to be in Minnesota, assisting AHS in seeking justice for animals. Welcome, Agent Hill!
