One-day camps and programs
Day camps for kids
Shelter Vet Camp and other AHS School Year Camps provide a one-of-a-kind experience for 3-8 graders and are available in Coon Rapids, Golden Valley, and Woodbury.
Paint my Pet
Offered at our Golden Valley shelter and Animal Humane Society's Veterinary Center in St. Paul, Paint My Pet sessions are open for 2022-2023 registration.
Scout Programs
Our Scout Programs help scouts earn badges through a variety of games and activities, while learning about the human-animal bond and how to be a responsible pet caretaker.
Multi-day camps and programs
Exploring Animal Careers
Did you know there are more than 100 different jobs at Animal Humane Society? It's true! Exploring Animal Careers is a summer program that allows teens to learn more about careers working with animals. Registration for summer 2023 opens in February.
Project Purpose
Project Purpose is a unique, 8-week program for 7-10 graders to learn more about AHS while empowering them to help make the world a better place for animals. Spots are available for our Winter/Spring season!
Rescue Readers
Rescue Readers provide soothing company to dogs, cats, and critters awaiting adoption in our shelters. Opportunities are available in Coon Rapids, Golden Valley, and Woodbury.
Summer Camp
Summer Camp, hosted in Coon Rapids, Golden Valley, and Woodbury, is a weeklong camp designed for kids entering grades 3-8. Registration for summer 2023 opens in February.
New this year: AHS now offers half-day themed camps at our University Avenue location for grades 3-10 throughout the summer focused on arts and crafts, animal science, or careers helping animals.
