This year's walk is packed with more activities, games and great vendors than ever before. We have doggie games at the brand new Doggie Midway, fun contests and demos from our main stage and a wide range of vendors and activities around the grounds.
So come to the walk to show your support for the animals, but stay afterward to enjoy an afternoon of fun. There will be plenty of things to do and great vendors to shop with. Please note, not all vendors will be able to process credit cards so you may want to bring cash or use our onsite ATM.
Meet your favorite FOX 9 anchors and their pooches along the walk route and at the Doggy Midway. Come and get cheered on by:
|
along with M.A. Rosko |
Meet your favorite radio personalities from Cities 97 including BT and Lee and their own dogs. Join in the fun as they cheer you on and quiz you for prizes.
Meet Minnesota Viking Ben Leber and his wife Abby as they judge contests and help run the games in the Doggie Midway

Doggie Games at the new Doggie Midway!
The Bone Zone - This is a dog heaven, to be in a pen full of all kinds, sizes and flavored bones! The ultimate in “a kid in a candy store.” However, owners must encourage their dogs to pick up only a bone that is identified with a ribbon. Those are the winners!
Clean Up Your Toys! -Team up with your dog! Your dog’s challenge: to bring each toy to you, and for you to put the toys away in the toy box for your dog!
Rover Rally – Doggy Obstacle Course - Not for the faint of heart! This pulse-pounding puppy course is filled with thrills and chills and is fun for any level of doggie abilities. Watch your furry friend weave and bob through the cones, hurdle the jump and finish with perfect poise to complete this Rover Rally!
Doggie Fine Art - Bring out the Picasso in your dog! Dogs will demonstrate their artistic talents and create original “paintings” using the beautifully framed “canvas” and the washable tempera paints. You can select which colors to use and then dip your dog’s paws in the paint and have the dog walk on the canvas until the “masterpiece” is complete. You can take home the fine art to display on the refrigerator or any other prominent place you choose. You’ll be proud of your budding new artists! Doggie fine art is proudly sponsored by the One Hope Network. Click here to learn more about the One Hope Network.
Red Light – Green Light! -Just like the game you played when you were a kid, but this time you’re teaming up with your well-mannered dog! 2-4 pairs of dogs and owners will line up in the pen at the start line with dogs sitting, and the first owner/dog pair to make it over the “finish” line, wins!
Treat Treasure Hunt -Dogs find the treat and eat it!! What’s more rewarding to a dog than edible rewards! Dog treats will be at 5 different stations and your dog has 45 seconds to find and eat them all!
Wet Nose Wishing Well -An old-time favorite, our dog friends will be encouraged to get the tennis ball by dunking in a water-filled trough!
Pint Size Play: let your little one run and play in a secure 24-square foot fenced-in area. Sponsored by Fresh Air Training
From the Main Stage!
Awards - Stick around to hear who our top walkers and teams are, and applaud them for their tireless efforts this year!!
Contests - You don’t need to be seen on David Letterman to prove that your dog can do tricks. Come show off to the crowd what your furry friend can do for fun in our stupid pet trick contest! No pre-registration necessary! Prizes include two free tickets to “Legally Blonde: The Musical” and generous gift certificates to Animal Humane Society. Click here for more details.

America’s Top Dog Model contest - Last year a dog from Minneapolis won the America’s Top Dog Model ® contest! Come meet winner Maia and enter the 2009 contest. We’re staging the regional event at the Walk for Animals, and up to three finalists in the casting call will go on to the national finals. This year’s theme is "Go Gorgeously Green." With decades of international culinary experience, Klecko has baked for presidents, rock stars, and professional athletes.
