Saturday May 2 is the 35th annual Walk for Animals — 35 years of taking to the streets (and pedestrian-safe walkways) on behalf of animals in need. This year we're streamlining efforts and holding one fabulous Walk in Golden Valley only. The need is as great as it has ever been. Animals also suffer the effects of tough times and this is exactly the time when our commitment must be at its strongest.
The Walk for Animals is about gathering and celebrating, but mostly, it’s about helping animals less fortunate than your own. This is the Animal Humane Society’s major, stand-up-on-your-hind-legs-and-bark fundraising event. Nearly 40,000 animals depend on the donations you generate on this single day in May. It is a day that rallies all of us to the humanity of caring for the animals among us, and the funds you raise help rescue lives – both human and animal.
And yes, it’s also a huge dog dish of fun. The Walk for Animals is full of life and people and animals, all with plenty of room to move and enjoy each other’s company and all of the activities.
It’s a short walk that goes miles and miles and miles for animals – animals that absolutely need us and love us absolutely.
