Volunteer opportunities for youth

You must be 16 or older to volunteer at Animal Humane Society sites or events. 

We understand that most youth have varying maturity levels. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to appropriately assess these differences and thus our policy is to limit our volunteer program to those 16 years of age or older.

Young people can engage in animal welfare issues and the work of Animal Humane Society through: 

Young people might also consider having a parent apply to be a foster volunteer. Although the primary volunteer must be age 18 or older, the entire family can participate in the fostering experience.
