At Animal Humane Society, we are ready for the dog days of summer as we introduce an unforgettable experience called S.A.V.E.  S.A.V.E stands for “Summer Animal Volunteer Experience” and is a uniquely designed volunteer program open to 16- to 18-year-olds who want to volunteer with AHS over the course of one summer.

Volunteers help by assisting customers who are interested in adopting an animal and providing support for the daily needs of the animals in our care.   Participants are fully trained for a volunteer role at one of our five Animal Humane Society locations. The commitment is easy and flexible!

  • Three hours a shift
  • Three shifts per week
  • All done in three months over the summer

S.A.V.E. participants are invited to attend exciting guest speaker presentations to hear about hot topics in the animal welfare community, and explore possible career options.

The application phase has ended for individuals interested in the S.A.V.E program for 2014.  Please consider joining S.A.V.E for summer 2015.
