We use dog-friendly, gentle methods in our Training Program. Our instructors use a combination of lure/reward and clicker training methods because they are fun and easy for all family members. Please feel free to observe our classes without your pet if you have any questions about our methods.
The first class of our Training Program is our humans-only Introduction seminar. All students must attend this class. At this walk-in class, you will meet one of our trainers and learn all about our programs and services. We will teach you some quick tips to help you with your dog and you will have the opportunity to ask us questions. See our complete schedule for upcoming Introduction dates and locations.
Our group classes are not appropriate for dogs that react aggressively to people or dogs. Dogs that are disruptive and/or jeopardize the safety of others will be excused from class. If your dog has ever bitten a person or another dog, please call (763)489-2217 before registering.
After your Training Pass start date, refunds are given only in case of medical or other emergency. By applying for class you are reserving a spot in our Training Program.
I understand that there are inherent risks associated with the presence of dogs in training. I assume full responsibility for myself, my dog, any other handlers of my dog, and any observers that attend my class with me.
I agree that I have given full disclosure of any history of aggressive behavior by my dog, and understand that failure to do so will result in being excused from class and no refund will be given.
I agree to hold harmless the Animal Humane Society, its staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors for any harm that may happen to me or my pet during the course of training.
I understand that trainers may intervene in dog-to-dog interactions and separate dogs as needed.
I grant full permission to the Animal Humane Society to use any photographs or video recordings of this event for any purposes.
I have read and agree to follow the above policies.
