Ruby

Ruby

We brought Ruby (formerly known as Brooke) home from the Animal Humane Society in Buffalo on Halloween. She was so small at the time that she rode home with me in my lap. She is now over 30 pounds and still growing! Ruby has brought a lot of love and laughs in to our house. She is very sociable and exceptionally smart as she was housebroken after only a few weeks and is doing really well with coming and staying, which is usually the hardest thing for a dog to learn, especially a lab who likes to run and explore. For some reason, when I sit on the couch to watch TV, she likes to sit behind me on the back of the couch, although she is so big that 1/2 of her body ends up hanging off the couch. It is quite funny to see. She doesn't bark much and in fact the only time I have heard her bark is a few times at our 13-year old cat (that I got at the Animal Humane Society when he was 7 weeks old). Ruby really just wants to play with the cat but the cat has no interest. We have noticed Ruby watching TV a few times and is quite fascinated with our new clock that opens up and plays a song every hour.  Ruby is a great dog and we are looking forward to many good years ahead with her!
