What's light orange with lines of white stripes and weighs ten pounds? Why, that would be Markie-Mark, the perfect, not to young, not too old, but very relaxed mellow cat. We adopted him on December 23rd, 2010 just before Christmas. It is the best thing I ever imagined because he has already brought so much warmth, affection, and playfulness to our home. He took to his new home like a true king of the jungle would with his territory in the wild. He made himself very comfortable, and I allowed him to explore everywhere in the apartment as well as the hallways and stairwells, with my supervision of course. He is very good at communication because he comes straight to me, like he is letting me know that he has an immediate need, which is true because his water dish is empty or he just wants me to pet him or play with him. Most times he is stretched out under the bed or on top of the bed sleeping. Every night I find him sleeping by my feet.
One day, he walked right up to me and bit me on my chin, ever so lightly, as if he was showing his love and acceptance to me. However, I am unsure of how that plays out in the animal kingdom as far as dominance goes, but that is what I felt from him! I fell in love with Markie-Mark as soon as I met him; he was the one cat that I was looking to adopt! I'd been telling my family that I wanted a nice big orange cat who was mellow and not too frisky and Markie-Mark was the right one! Everyone I know that has met him adores him!
