This past New Year, Mac and his sister puppies were surrendered to the Golden Valley Animal Humane Society. A handsome little pup, his photo was featured on the AHS website as a puppy available for adoption. We saw his picture and had to go take a look at him. We walked into the adoption center knowing we wouldn’t be going home alone.
Mac is a pitbull mix and has every ounce of playful energy to prove it. Though he was the quietest of his siblings, he had a sweet smile and we believe that he chose us. We couldn’t resist his kisses or his trusting and kind nature, so we put an adoption hold on him and went home to talk about it. There was little conversation as we both knew we wanted this little guy to be part of our family. The next morning, we went back to the adoption center and brought home our little Mac.
He was slightly malnourished and had some cuts that were healing on his face when we brought him home. He was timid, shy and extremely cuddly. With the help of Animal Humane Society, Mac got caught up on his shots and started puppy school – he passed level 1 in only two weeks! Not only is Mac smart and sweet, he is a loyal dog who has truly blossomed with the love we have shown him.
I always say that I will only get a pet from AHS. There are so many amazing animals that could use a home and your love. We have watched Mac grow into a beautiful animal with a love for people and every dog that he meets. We couldn’t imagine life without him.
