Jack

We had our cat, Shadow, for many years until she passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. My husband and I, along with our dog Buster, were deeply saddened by our loss. John and I decided that we would like to adopt a cat from the Animal Humane Society to provide a pet with the opportunity for a new start in a loving home. John had a Maine Coon in the past, and was insistent that he wanted to adopt another Maine Coon due to their mellow personality. We happened to look on the Animal Humane Society website on a Sunday when we saw a male Maine Coon up for adoption at the Coon Rapids shelter. We rushed right over to meet him and hoped he was still available for adoption. As soon as we met Jack, he came right up to us and was purring and licking our hands. We spent some time getting acquainted with him, and fell in love with him right away. We decided at that moment to adopt Jack and brought him home that afternoon. We spent a few days letting him get to know us and our house before we introduced him to Buster. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction! Buster gave his new buddy many kisses as he followed him around our house. Jack is very loving and playful, and has adapted to his new environment very fast. He gets a lot of love and attention, and has brought new life and love into our home. I can't imagine life without him. We love him!
