Thank you to the Golden Valley Animal Humane Society for the best gift my fiance and I have given each other - our dog Hershey! We adopted him in January 2010 and boy was he in rough shape! Being a sucker for the hard luck case, I fell in love with Hershey from his picture on the website. Craig was a little leary when reading about Hershey's needs. I convinced him it would be worth it. We took Hershey home and treated all of his
conditions: demodetic mange, kennel cough, ear infection, whipworm and hookworm, and then got his diet back on track.
He didn't do much more than sleep for the first few days we had him. At first we attributed his mellow demeanor to being sick, but later realized that is just the way he is! Now he is a perfectly healthy growing boy and we couldn't be happier! We love everything about this dog. We hit the jackpot when we found him. He fits right in with our two cats Presto (a Hurricane Katrina rescue) and Daisy (another Golden Valley AHS hard luck
story). Everywhere we take him, we have to keep our eyes open for friends and family that want to kidnap him for themselves! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to experience the love and devotion of this great dog.
