In the beginning of 2009, my fiancé and I headed into the Woodbury Humane Society to check out the dogs for a harmless “we aren’t going to buy” visit. Within about 2 minutes of being in the dog area, we spotted an adorable little 2 year old Beagle named Bucko.
You could tell right away he had friendliness bounding out of every inch of his cute little waggling body and he wanted nothing more than for somebody to pet him and love him up. I instantly went into the kennel with the cute little feller and within a ½ second he was licking my face non-stop while letting out little “you have to take me home!” whimpers. Love at first sight would be an understatement!
We have now had Mr. Bucko home for over 2 months and could not be more pleased with the loving, well-behaved, affectionate, playful companion we have found. Time after time my fiancé and I will look at each other and say “wow, we seriously have the greatest dog”! A huge part of his great demeanor undoubtedly comes from the wonderful home he had before ours. We are so thankful that his previous owners took the time to help make him into the great pup he is today.
The Woodbury Humane Society did a fabulous job with helping us to make the adjustment as new dog parents. I can honestly say that I cannot picture coming home to anything less than Bucko’s wagging tail, lovey-dovey ways and unconditional companionship. We are so thankful that we have found him and that he has found his forever home!
