Peeeek!

Spay/Neuter services

Spaying or neutering your dog, cat or bunny is an important part of being a pet owner. By having the procedure done, you create a positive environment for your pet and the community by:

  • Reducing the risk of certain pet health problems, adding years to your pet's life
  • Having a more enjoyable pet - you'll no longer have to deal with females in heat or overactive male suitors
  • Helping to control the pet population by reducing the number of unwanted and stray animals

In addition, you'll put to rest many myths regarding the sterilization of your pet. Contrary to popular belief, it does not reduce your pet's natural instincts or personality. It also doesn't create overweight and lazy pets. And there are affordable means to getting the procedure done.

Minnesota law makes it unlawful for the Animal Humane Society to practice veterinary medicine on animals not owned by our organization. We're working toward a solution, but until that time, we remain committed to helping you find low-cost spay/neuter services in your area. Review the information below to learn more about your options.

Call veterinarians in your community to see if they offer discounts or reduced-fee specials. Contact other animal welfare organizations that may be able to offer subsidized spay/neuter programs. Please consider those listed below.
