At the Animal Humane Society, we offer excellent care by experienced and compassionate staff for your dog, cat, rabbit, ferret or small animal. You will have peace of mind while your pet enjoys our clean, well-maintained accommodations, outdoor dog exercise runs and large indoor cat play area. Our rates are reasonable and your boarding fee helps us care for nearly 40,000 homeless animals per year.
*Fees will include day of drop-off and day of pick-up (unless picked up prior to 10 a.m.).
When you board more than one pet at a time you will receive 10% off the boarding rates. Special monthly rates are also available - please call for details.
7 a.m. - 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. daily
All pet accommodations are cleaned and sanitized daily. Your pet will have 24-hour access to fresh water, will enjoy quiet music and can have either your bedding or ours to lie on and relax. We encourage you to bring old blankets, towels, or pillowcases from home that are not freshly laundered, so your dog or cat will be reminded of his family and loved ones. We feed Purina pet food, or if you prefer you may provide us with your pet's regular food. There are no additional fees for bringing your pet’s own food or for giving medication.
Our kennel runs are cleaned and sanitized daily. The indoor dog runs are 3.5' x 6.5' for a total area of nearly 23 square feet. Dogs will also have access four times per day to outdoor runs. Please bring a few chew toys for your dog or some favorite but replaceable toys. All belongings should be identified. We cannot be responsible for toys and bedding. For an additional fee, your dog will receive one-on-one walks with a caring staff person who will take your dog outside, away from other dogs for 20 minutes to walk, stretch his legs and have a good sniff outdoors. Nail trimming, brushing and microchipping are also available.
For the health and safety of your pet, as well as our other pet guests, all necessary vaccinations are required to be up to date at least two weeks prior to your pet's stay. After a reservation has been made, you will need to fax or send your pet's vaccination records before your pet arrives. Vaccinations required for dogs include DA2PP (Distemper/Adenovirus/Parainfluenza/Parvovirus), rabies, and Bordetella. Puppies also need Coronavirus vaccine. Cats are required to have PRC and rabies shots. Please call for more details. In addition, your pet must be free of symptoms of upper respiratory infection when s/he arrives at our boarding facility. We are unable to offer boarding services for aggressive dogs or diabetic pets.
We have the highest concern for the health of your pet. Our veterinary staff are on duty during regular business hours and can provide first aid if necessary. If your pet has a serious medical emergency, we will transport your pet to your regular veterinarian during business hours or to the nearby Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Services clinic after business hours. There will be a transportation charge of $25 for this service. We encourage you to make arrangements in advance with your veterinarian about what s/he is to do with your pet in case of a medical emergency. It's important that the person you list as an emergency contact also know your wishes.
