Report a Found Pet

For this service to be most effective, please file a report only if the animal is in your possession and you plan to care for the animal in your home.

Please note the Animal Humane Society serves Minneapolis-St. Paul and greater Minnesota and is not affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States.

If you submit a report and then decide to surrender the animal to your local animal control or humane society, please email us csweb@animalhumanesociety.org and inform us the pet is no longer in your care. Include the type of pet, city found, date you filed a report and your name to help us locate your report. Please complete a full surrender form when bringing the pet to one of our facilities.

We provide the AHS Lost & Found Online Bulletin Board as a public service to help reunite lost pets with their owners but do not assume responsibility for facilitating matches between lost, found and stray reports.

As much as we would like to, we are unable to check found pet reports against the lost reports found on this online bulletin board. We do not have the staff to check each one against the hundreds of lost pet reports found on the board each day.

This public service allows you to post pictures and information regarding a stray animal you’ve found. Allow at least 12 hours for the information to post to the online bulletin board. Your posting will remain on the online bulletin board for 30 days.

A photo is the most important information you can provide to help others reconnect with their pet. Please include as much information as possible and include an up-to-date, clear photo.

Before posting, please review the Lost Pets section of this online bulletin board to see if the animal in your care has been listed by its family.

To delete your found pet report before the 30 day expiration date, please email us at csweb@animalhumanesociety.org. Include in your message the type of report (lost or found), animal type, city lost, date you filed a report and your name to help us locate your report.

Expired or deleted reports are not archived.
