Cremation services

The Animal Humane Society offers two types of cremation services to meet the needs of pet owners—private and communal cremation. Each service is provided out of our Golden Valley facility.

Private cremation

We provide this service for families who wish to keep the remains of their pet. Your pet will receive an individual cremation with its remains carefully packaged and returned to you in a standard container. You will also receive a certificate of cremation acknowledging that your pet was cremated at Animal Humane Society.

Private cremation fees are based on weight, not species:

50 lbs. or less $100
51 lbs. or more $135

The remains of your pet will be available for you to pick up approximately seven to 10 business days after your pet is brought to our Golden Valley facility. Urns are available for purchase and range in price from $50 to $150. Available selections are on display by the Adoption counter.

Communal cremation

This service is provided for $75 to owners who do not wish to keep the remains of their pet.
