Animal House is open 7 am – 7 pm daily.

Animal Humane Society is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (after 3 pm) and Christmas Day. Animal House staff is here, however, to care for your pets.

Animal House is located at the Golden Valley location of Animal Humane Society. We are just off of Olson Memorial Highway/Highway 55. Our address is 845 Meadow Lane North, Golden Valley, MN 55422 and we are located at the rear of the building.

Rates:

100% of the proceeds from Animal House support the animals receiving care at Animal Humane Society. When you board your pet at Animal House you are helping us help animals who are waiting for a home.

Dog: $27 per day
Dog Day-care: $15 per day
Cat/Rabbit/Ferret: $17 per day
Guinea pigs: $9 per day
Other Small Pets: Rates upon request

Please pick-up your pet by 11 a.m. to avoid being charged an additional day’s boarding fees.

The more the merrier! When you board more than one pet (from the same family) at a time you will receive 10% off the boarding rates.

Accommodations:
All pet accommodations are cleaned and daily. Your pet will have 24-hour access to fresh water, will enjoy quiet music and can have either your bedding or ours to lie on and relax. We encourage you to bring blankets, towels, or pillowcases from home that are not freshly laundered, so your dog or cat will be reminded of his family and loved ones. We suggest that you bring your pet's regular food, or if you prefer, we can supply Purina pet food. There are no additional fees for bringing your pet’s own food or for giving medication.

Accommodations specific to dogs
Our kennel runs are cleaned and sanitized daily. The indoor dog runs are 3.5' x 6.5' for a total area of nearly 23 square feet. Dogs will also have access four times per day to outdoor runs. Please bring a few chew toys for your dog or some favorite but replaceable toys. All belongings should be identified. We cannot be responsible for toys and bedding. For an additional fee, your dog will receive one-on-one walks with a caring staff person who will take your dog outside, away from other dogs for 20 minutes to walk, stretch his legs and have a good sniff outdoors.

Accommodations specific to cats:
Cats each have individual "cubbies." They are approximately 3 1/2' X 2 1/2' X 2 1/2'. Each cubbie has a small condo, room for a litter box, and room to lie down. Cats get out several times a day to run and have fun in our roomy cat play area. The cat play area features a six foot high "cat tree" to play on.

You can bring in your pet's housing, or we can provide for them.

A 20-minute outdoor walk for dogs- $10 per walk

This is a great way to break up the day for your dog—for both their physical and mental health. And the area around us at Wirth Park is filled with great scents and sounds.

A 20 minute Individual playtime(For any animal!) - $10

This is one of our most popular services and one our staff loves to give. We provide this one on one playtime in our Training Center space.

Nail trimming - $15 for dogs, cats, and rabbits, $8 for guinea pigs

Keep your pets paws in top form with this service.

Microchip your pet- $30

If your pet is not yet microchipped we can save you a trip to your vet and provide this valuable service

Brushing - $12 for dogs, $10 for cats, and $7 for rabbits and guinea pigs

More one-on-one time for your pet with a service they love.

A raised dog bed - $2 per day, free after seven days

Raised beds are a great novelty item and perfect for aging or arthritic pets!

Pet Updates via Text Message- $1 per day; limit one per customer per day

Staff will send you a brief message to let you know how your pet is doing!

Health and Safety

The biggest priority for us at Animal House is to keep all of the pets in our care healthy.

For the health and safety of your pet, as well as our other pet guests, all necessary vaccinations are required to be up to date prior to your pet's stay. After a reservation has been made, you will need to fax or send your pet's vaccination records before your pet arrives. (Our fax number is 763-489-2256). Vaccinations requirements are as follow:

Dogs must have DA2PP (Distemper/Adenovirus/Parainfluenza/Parvovirus), rabies, and bordetella.
Cats are required to have PRC and rabies shots.
Ferrets need distemper and rabies shots.

We have the highest concern for the health of your pet. If your pet has a serious medical emergency, we will transport your pet to your regular veterinarian during business hours or to the nearby Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Services clinic after business hours. (The clinic is less than 5 minutes away on Olson Memorial Hwy/Highway 55.)
