Bill aims to criminalize documentation
of acts of animal cruelty in Minnesota

Would you be able to turn a blind eye to animal cruelty? A new bill (S.F. 1118/H.F. 1369) introduced at the Minnesota Legislature is asking Minnesotans to do just that by preventing documentation of acts occuring at animal facilities. If passed, it will criminalize the documentation of animal cruelty.

Animal Humane Society does not support this bill.

CURRENT STATUS OF THE BILL: S.F. 1118/H.F. 1369 has been referred to both House and Senate Agriculture Committees. Discussions with legislators are taking place to discuss the ramifications of the bill.

  • Contact your legislators to let them know we need stronger animal welfare protections, not legislation that will further hide abuse and neglect.
