Part of our work at the Animal Humane Society involves being a strong voice for all animals, large and small. Our staff of humane investigators dedicate each day to educating the community on proper care of animals and how to prevent animal cruelty. They receive thousands of calls for service each year, the majority of which involve lack of food, water and shelter. However, larger, more complex cases are conducted resulting in on-site investigations, animal seizure and prosecuting offenders.
While we’re conducting our own investigations, we’re often contacted by law enforcement agencies to assist in their investigations and with animal rescue, transportation, shelter and medical treatment.
In addition, we often conduct training presentations and workshops for the humane enforcement industry, academic institutions, and community associations across the state of Minnesota.
For assistance with an investigation, please contact our humane investigators. They investigate complaints across the Twin Cities metro area, as well as other jurisdictions in the state when requested. Complaints and the names of complainants are kept confidential. We must have proper evidence and/or witnesses to successfully build a case for seizure and/or prosecution.
