Manny is Fox 9's Pick of the Litter... again

Tuesday, April 14
Fox 9 reporting

** Please note that Manny is now at our Woodbury facility. He is no longer in Golden Valley as stated in the video. **

Sweet pup Manny has traveled a long road and is still waiting for a new home. He arrived at AHS last September after losing his home in Texas during the devastation of Hurricane Ike. Before leaving the South, Manny was diagnosed with heartworm—a condition that unfortunately was diagnosed after damage had already been done to his heart. He began treatment immediately.

Upon his arrival in Minnesota, the sickly dog continued his treatment under the supervision of AHS veterinarians and was placed in a foster home for several months to rest and be monitored for possible complications. The treatments went well and, although his heart will always be affected, Manny was back in good spirits, active and ready for a new start in life.

Manny is still available for adoption after arriving back at the shelter two and a half months ago. We do not impose time limits on the animals in our adoption centers so he’ll remain available for adoption until his new family finds him.

It has taken quite some time, but Manny’s story wouldn’t be this close to a happy ending (or as we like to call it at AHS, a “happy beginning”) without the support of people like you. If you’re considering adopting a dog, please consider Manny.

Review Manny's bio and watch his appearance on Fox 9 below.
