By all respects, Michael Dougherty is a hero. He doesn’t don a cape or have superpowers. But he does drive a vehicle with advanced features and swoops in to save lives in the nick of time.
Dougherty founded Puppy Pipeline Rescue of Georgia in November 2006 and has been specializing in 11th-hour rescues ever since. He’s transported hundreds of healthy dogs out of Georgia animal shelters that would otherwise be euthanized for exceeding time limits or simply because there isn’t enough space for them.
On Thursday, February 12 he delivered his 1,000th dog to Animal Humane Society. Jana Shortal from KARE 11 News was on-site to report the story. Click below to watch.
