Sweet little Cocoa is WCCO's Pet of the Week

Scottie loves to lie in your lap and have his back and belly rubbed. Nicknamed "Bearcat" by Animal Humane Society volunteers because he likes to give bear hugs, this eight-year-old boy is looking for a new home with a big family.

Earlier this month, the North Central Drug Task Force and the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant near Mora, Minn. Authorities discovered 244 marijuana plants, a large amount of processed marijuana and firearms. They also discovered 67 animals on the property—all with very little food or water and living in substandard housing. Six were found frozen in the snow.

Wildlife training workshop held at AHS March 13-14 & 20

Animal Humane Society will host an annual wildlife rehabilitation training workshop Saturday–Sunday, March 13-14 and Saturday, March 20, 2010 at its Golden Valley facility. Sponsored by Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release, the workshop is open to the public and provides basic training for the rehabilitation and handling of Minnesota's wildlife.

Animal Humane Society’s (AHS) unprecedented Double the Love cat adoption program relaunches with hopes of placing even more cats in new homes. Prospective adopters can now adopt one cat or kitten at the regular adoption fee with the fee waived for the second cat.
