Animal Humane Society has learned that the Minnesota Valley Humane Society, located in Burnsville, MN will be closing its operations on December 31, 2010.
“We are saddened that this resource for animals in the community will be closing,” said Janelle Dixon, CEO/President of Animal Humane Society. “Our organization has reached out to theirs to let them know we will assist them with any animals coming through their doors and any that need to find homes. We are waiting to hear what their needs may be.”
Animal Humane Society and Minnesota Valley Humane Society are separate organizations and are not affiliated.
Animal Humane Society has locations in Buffalo, Coon Rapids, Golden Valley, St. Paul and Woodbury. Animal Humane Society is a private, non profit organization and is not affiliated with any national humane organizations, nor does it receive any federal or state funding. Animal Humane Society relies on donations from the community and its retail sales through adoptions, pet training, boarding and educational programs.
