The help of the Animal Humane Society was requested by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office for an agency assist in relation to a cockfighting bust on early Sunday morning, April 19.
On April 20, a warrant was obtained and an AHS team arrived at the East Bethel, MN residence to seize five birds—three fighting roosters and two juvenile chickens. Paraphernalia consistent with animal fighting was also found on the property.
The birds were transported to AHS’s Golden Valley location where they are currently receiving forensic medical examinations.
Three individuals have been arrested for felony animal fighting.
