Winnie's Success Story

Winnie's Success Story

The dog walkers at our Golden Valley location noticed that the foxhound named “Puddie Pie” would cower in the back of her pen while all the other dogs tried to attract attention to themselves. Volunteer walker Betsy was sad to have lost her beloved Labrador retriever a few months earlier. She hadn’t taken notice of Puddie Pie until another volunteer raved about her. Betsy didn’t think she was ready for a new dog, and didn’t really think that Puddie Pie was the right dog for her. That was until they went for a walk. Betsy says Puddie Pie was very sweet as she jumped up every few steps and begged for a hug. Betsy just knew she had to take the dog home. Her new name is Winnie. They have been best friends ever since.

Now, Winnie is like a whole different dog. Instead of shy, she’s now spunky. Her pal is her brother, Fozzie Bear, a cocker spaniel. The two dogs adore each other. And, some of Winnie’s foxhound instincts are coming out. She even tried to climb up a tree to get a raccoon! But, she’s not really sure what to do with dog toys. Winnie has come a long way!
