Rocky's Success Story

Alex always wanted a beagle, so shortly after he and Emily got married, the newlyweds went to the Animal Humane Society. The couple fell in love with an adorable beagle/rat terrier mix named Rocky. Getting him used to his new home was quite an adventure! He was three years old at the time, but acted like a puppy. One of the first times he was left home alone, Rocky leaped up on the kitchen table, knocked the butter dish onto the floor and licked up all the butter. It was pretty humorous, but also made Emily and Alex realize that Rocky would have to be kenneled when they weren’t home.

Rocky has been an absolute joy and quite the entertainer when it comes to toys. He’ll chew up a stuffed toy and pull out the squeaker in just about 10 minutes. The couple gets such a kick out of watching Rocky have so much fun destroying toys that they get him a new one often just to watch the show. Afterwards, Rocky is so cute as he walks around with the fuzz from the stuffing hanging from his mouth and sticking to his face. Rocky is rambunctious, but also loves to cuddle. “Rocky is like our baby and we cannot imagine our lives without him,” Emily says.
