As a full-time AHS humane educator, Christa Gerrietts visits schools and community organizations to teach them about issues related to companion animals, and leads tours and other educational programs in our shelters. Her background includes experience as both a classroom teacher and a day camp leader. Christa is the proud owner of Kinnick, a Hound mix she adopted from a shelter in Florida. In 2011, Christa will lead summer camps at Buffalo and Coon Rapids.
AHS humane educator Holly Wetzel provides education programs in local schools, facilitates our PetSet Youth Club, and leads tours, birthday parties, and other educational programs in our shelters. Holly’s background includes experience in both classroom teaching and animal welfare. When not working at AHS, Holly can sometimes be seen driving a streetcar on the Como-Harriet streetcar line. Holly is the proud owner of four rescued pets, including two dogs (an Italian Greyhound and a Pomeranian) and two cats (a Siamese mix and a Persian mix).
As a humane educator for AHS, Kristin Kern visits schools and community organizations to teach them about issues related to companion animals, and leads tours and other educational programs in our shelters. In addition to several years' experience as an AHS educator and camp counselor, Kristin's background includes work as a paraprofessional and education assistant in several local school districts. Kristin is the proud owner of a German Shepherd dog, Kaia, who earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate at the AHS training school.
